Shri Marupudi Leeladhar Rao, is an ardent believer of the saying "Ask not what your country can do for you; Ask what you can do for your country". He has completed his masters in prestigious Texas University and was highly successful in IT Business globally.
After making successful business career globally, His inhibited philanthropic attitude always reminded him about his mother country and native town. His empathy towards the poor in our nation and commitment to do the service for his mother country has forced him to sacrifice his successful business career and in the year 2001 he moved to his country. His family, who were motivated by the leadership of Mahathma Gandhi, was strong believers of democracy and supporter of Indian National Congress. Inspired by the sacrifices made from the great leaders in congress party like Smt.Indira Gandhi, and Shri Rajiv Gandhi, he has joined the congress party and started building the party in his constituency, by connecting the welfare programs of the party to the poor.
Apart from the party activities, his personal passion towards social equality and uplifting of poor has motivated him to start "Nandhini Charitable trust" which was inaugurated by honble. Chief Minister Dr.Y.S.Rajasekhar Reddy, through which he had spent a million dollars every year in various activities like providing drinking water to all the villages, scholarships for poor children's education, medical facilities for aged, implementation of AIDs prevention programmes, constructing the houses for poor etc.

He has contributed $80,000 for Kargil war victims. He has assisted Noth Texas Telugu association during the period of Kargil war. He has donated Computers. From 2001 he is been actively involved in social activities and public services at Ponnur Constituency and as a responsible party activist has conducted various people awareness programs to enlighten them for availining various welfare schemes implemented by Our honble. His contribution towards party was proved in making an audio CD which was inaugurated in National Press Conference by our Honble. Chief Minister and all other state delegates, had made deep impact in the constituenc1y and was well received by the general public.
